Food Stop Supervisor

Contract: Fixed term 12 months, 20 hours per week (afternoons)

Salary: Band 2 point 6 £17,660 (pro rata £9,545)

At Action Homeless, we look for great people who share a passion for making a difference. Our Food Stop helps people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness by providing much-needed emergency food support. The Food Stop is run day to day by a dedicated team of volunteers and we are seeking an individual to oversee operations and to provide supervisory support to the team.

Typical duties will include; induction and training of volunteers, creating work rotas, stock handling, ensuring referrals are dealt with and the monitoring and evaluation of our service.

You should bring with you:

  • Ability to plan and organise resources
  • Ability to communicate at all levels with excellent interpersonal skills
  • A passion to put clients at the heart of your work to provide a service that responds to their interests and needs
  • A team player but who can be creative and use own initiative
  • Motivation to achieve goals whatever the setback.

You will also need a full driving licence and access to your own vehicle for the role.

Sessional Workers

Salary: £10.10 per hour

Action Homeless is a local charity dedicated to tackling the causes and consequences of homeless in Leicester and Leicestershire. We are looking to recruit bright and enthusiastic sessional workers to cover various shifts at our properties. This post offers ad-hoc work to cover staff absences.

You will need a general understanding of homelessness and the issues that our service users face, be able to work at short notice across a variety of shifts day and night. You will also need to be flexible and adaptable in different job roles as you will have various duties from working in the kitchen to dealing with rent payments.
