We are passionate about ending street homelessness, and empowering people to achieve higher living standards and quality of life.

This fantastic opportunity will see you joining a much needed service in the City that supports homelessness. You will be required to work as part of team in either our low, medium or high support services dependent on the staffing needs of these services. High support services will involve working with complex needs and rough sleepers. Hours will vary across the roles and may include shift and weekend work to ensure we can provide our services for 7 days per week to meet the needs of our clients.

As a Homeless Services Officer you will….

· Complete regular health and safety checks of individual rooms/properties. Ensuring our accommodation provides a safe and secure living environment

· sign up new clients to their accommodation, advising them of their rights and obligations under the conditions of their tenancy/licence agreements and fully inducting them into the new accommodation

· Be the first point of contact in all matters relating to our clients accommodation e.g. housing benefit advice, arrears advice and anti-social behaviour issues.

· Be responsible for delivering housing related support so our clients sustain their accommodation. This will include encouraging regular rent payments, budgeting and maintaining their home.

· Support clients to progress their action plans to achieve a positive and sustainable move into more permanent accommodation

· Be able to deal with difficult situations and manage conflict appropriately

· Be alert to the health and well-being of the clients in our services

To be successful you will need….

· An approachable manner with the ability to remain calm under pressure

· The ability to motivate clients and provide encouragement so they engage with the support available to them

· The IT skills to collect, input and retrieve data using our ICT systems

· Experience of supporting clients within a housing setting

· Commitment and flexibility towards your work

Action Homeless is committed to ending the cycle of homelessness and the Safety and Response Officers play a vital role in ensuring everyone has a decent and safe place to call home.

This fantastic opportunity will see you support our services, to maintain the safety for our clients and security of our properties.

As a safety and response officer you will:

· Respond to any emergency situations that occur

· Provide a welcoming, responsive and proactive presence to our customers and visitors ensuring their safety and the safety of the buildings is upheld.

· Carry out checks and regular patrols of the buildings, responding to any incidents and involving emergency services as and when is necessary.

· Monitor and operate our CCTV systems across multiple sites and our door entry systems

· Responsible for Health and Safety inspection whilst on duty, taking action when required and for implementing fire and fire alarm procedures including evacuation

To be successful you required:

· An approachable manner with the ability to remain calm.

· Ability to operate CCTV systems and security equipment

· Ability to operate smart phone technology and use ICT equipment for completion of reports and records

· Understand Health and Safety

· Ability to work as part of team but be as equally comfortable working alone

· Clear communication skills and the ability to manage time and prioritise

· Must be able to drive and have access to own vehicle

Action Homeless is seeking an enthusiastic individual to work with children and families who are living in temporary accommodation, through delivery of play sessions and personalised support. You will have a passion for working with children and young people and will be committed to helping families to break the cycle of homelessness.

You will work alongside parents and other professionals to identify individual needs of children and implement activities and support which enables children to feel more stable, develop meaningful relationships and to express their emotions appropriately. You will design and deliver sessions which help to instill a sense of routine and build children’s self confidence.

You will need to provide a welcoming and supportive environment where the delivery of safe and creative play opportunities can occur. You will be required to encourage participation in activities and work collaboratively with others to enhance children’s wellbeing.

A minimum of Level 2 in Childcare/Early Years or equivalent qualification is required.

This is a fantastic opportunity to have a positive impact on the lives of children who are affected by homelessness in Leicester.

You’ll be part of creating a welcoming and inclusive environment to people who are experiencing homelessness, delivering a varied programme of events and activities which help to break the cycle of homelessness.
