Homeless Services Officers & Trainees

At Action Homeless we are creative, fast paced and most importantly are passionate about the people we work with. We are motivated by our aims to make a difference, end street homelessness and offering high standards of accommodation and services.

We are currently developing services and expanding in order to respond to our homeless community both locally and nationally. We are currently looking for Homeless Service Officers and Homeless Services Trainees to join our teams.

To deliver our quality services and respond effectively we look for dynamic and flexible people with energy and enthusiasm, who will go the extra mile for some of the city’s most vulnerable people, you will enjoy working with people and with dynamic teams with a variety of skills, qualities and experiences. We are led by our customers and you won’t mind working unsocial hours.

You may already have some skills and experience working in the homeless sector and are looking for a change or a new challenge. Or you may be new to the field of homeless services and looking for a new career path with training and development opportunities attached.

Cleaner x 2

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 2 x 16 hour per week roles on a rota (including weekends and 7am starts, overtime available)

Salary: £9.50 per hour

Action Homeless are looking to recruit an enthusiastic individual to join our housekeeping team.

You will be responsible for a variety of cleaning duties and ensuring all rooms are cared for and schedules adhered to in accordance with Action Homeless standards. You will also be required to maintain outside areas.

We are seeking an individual with experience of commercial and domestic cleaning, knowledge and understanding of working with cleaning chemicals i.e. COSHH and a general interest in working in a homeless service environment. You will need to have good organisation and prioritisation skills, enjoy working with people and be confident and approachable.

Sessional Workers

Salary: £10.50 per hour

Action Homeless is a local charity dedicated to tackling the causes and consequences of homeless in Leicester and Leicestershire. We are looking to recruit bright and enthusiastic sessional workers to cover various shifts at our properties which provide accommodation to people experiencing homelessness. The role will provide for staff cover in times of absence

You will need experience of working within the housing sector or with our client group. You should be able to work at short notice across a variety of shifts day / evening shifts e.g. 8am-4pm or 2pm-10pm. Your role will include; collecting rent payments, booking in clients, day to day running of the supported housing project.

This is a zero-hour contract but due to the current situation there is plenty of work available.
