Play Worker

Hours: 18 hours per week

Contract: Fixed Term 6 months

Salary: £10.34 per hour (9,677 per annum)

Action Homeless is seeking an enthuastic individual to join a small team that works with children aged 0-4 years who are affected by homelessness, providing group and family play sessions and laying the foundations for a more positive future.

You will assist with the delivery of the children’s activity programme. You will need to provide a welcoming and supportive environment where the delivery of safe and creative play opportunities can occur. You will be required to encourage participation in activities to help build children’s confidence whilst working within an equal opportunities framework.

NVQ level 2 in Childcare or equivalent qualification is required.

In this role we are looking for highly focused individuals who possess excellent interpersonal skills.

Tenancy Sustainment Officer – Homeless Services

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 37 per week

Salary: Starting at £24,303 (this includes £1,000 enhancement for participating in the organisation’s out of hours on-call on a rota basis)

Action Homeless is looking to recruit an enthusiastic individual to join a small team in supporting clients to sustain their own tenancies.  This is an ideal role for someone who has a passion to make a difference and help individuals to regain their independence.

You will be responsible for overseeing tenant’s journeys from temporary accommodation into their own tenancy, providing advice on their rights and obligations including entitlements to welfare benefits and dealing with any breaches in tenancies.

We are seeking an individual that can either demonstrate experiences according to the person specification or can show the willingness and drive to undertake training to succeed in the role. The ability to prioritise workloads, motivate people to engage, work flexibly with a “can do” attitude, and be a team player are essential.

Cleaner

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 37 hours per week on a rota (will include working weekends and early starts)

Salary: £9.90 per hour

 

Action Homeless are looking to recruit an enthusiastic individual to join our housekeeping team.

You will be responsible for ensuring that our properties maintain a high standard of cleanliness including kitchen areas and the cleaning schedules are adhered to. You will also be responsible for maintaining outside areas.

You should have experience of commercial and domestic cleaning, knowledge and understanding of working with cleaning chemicals i.e. COSHH and a general interest in working in a homeless service environment. You will need to have good organisation and prioritisation skills, enjoy working with people and be confident and approachable.

Homeless Services Officer

Hours: 37 Hours per week

Salary: Starting salary – £22,478 (11.68 per hour) salary includes £1000 enhancement for participation in on-call duties on a rota basis.

 

We are looking for people with experience of working with vulnerable adults, you may already be in the homeless sector, or have experience working with adults in challenging situations, and have transferable skills and competencies we are looking for.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a service working towards reducing rough sleeping in Leicester, supporting people to access suitable crisis and longer-term accommodation.

As a Homeless Service Officer you will:

  • Work within one of our low, medium or high support services
  • You will be responsible for delivering housing related support
  • Working with clients to help transition into end stage accommodation
  • Work with a strength based approach to help overcome complex issues and create tailored support packages.
  • Conduct regular health and safety checks
  • Be responsible for rent collection and void management.

A lot of our services operate 7 days per week which may include some evening work or weekend work to ensure that the needs of our clients are fully met.
