Election 2024: Homelessness crisis should be a focus for all

With the General Election now only weeks away, we’re asking all of Leicester’s Prospective Parliamentary Candidates to take notice of the worsening Homelessness Crisis in our city and to engage with us in finding solutions.

As is the case in many parts of the UK, Leicester has record numbers of people and families living in temporary accommodation. Their lives in limbo, these people need urgent action and commitment from our political leaders to break the damaging cycle of homelessness.

Homelessness and insecure housing is impacting on young children in Leicester too, disrupting their education and development, the effects of which will be felt for the rest of their lives.

We’re asking all of Leicester’s candidates, from all political parties, to engage with us on this important issue, to visit our services, to meet people affected by homelessness and to learn more about the challenges and opportunities to deliver much needed change.
