Action Homeless Make Refugee Appeal

In June Action Homeless will be working with Leicester City Council to welcome three new refugee families to the city. As a result they are appealing for donations of key household items.

As part of their work to provide crisis care Action Homeless are occasionally called upon to provide welcome packs to refugee families. Through their Food Stop, and thanks to generous donations and hardworking volunteers, they are able to provide these families with food parcels. However they are looking to go beyond this and need your help.

Action Homeless CEO Mark Grant said “like many of the people we support we meet these families when they have nothing. Anyone that has moved house knows that getting the bed made and some food in the cupboards is comforting. Basic items that we often take for granted such as bedding, pots, and pans go a long way towards helping people settle into a new home, and in this case country.”

Action Homeless would like to hear from anyone willing to donate something from the following list:

  • Single & Double Duvet Covers
  • Single & Double Bed Sheets
  • Pillow Cases
  • Towels
  • Pots & Pans
  • Kitchen Utensils
  • Cleaning & Laundry Supplies
