Volunteer Opportunity: Help Fight Holiday Hunger

Action Homeless is appealing for volunteers to help provide food to hundreds of Leicester children this summer.

During school holidays families across Leicester who rely on free school meals during term time can struggle. We are collaborating with Leicester City Council and local community groups from across the city to provide 7000 lunches for children and combat food poverty in the city.

We are looking for volunteers to join a city-wide effort to tackle Holiday Hunger and help prepare and serve lunches on weekdays over the school holidays, Monday 16th July – Friday 24th August.

Action Homeless will provide volunteers with food hygiene training and a DBS check where relevant. Volunteers will be required to travel to community groups in Leicester and Action Homeless is able to cover reasonable travel expenses.

As a volunteer, you will be allocated to a community group according to your availability and their need.
